The Queen Creek Recreation Area features four miles of paved hiking and biking trails that go around the perimeter of the lake, an amphitheatre, pedestrian bridge, boat ramps, and picnic areas. The lake (which is actually a reservoir) exists thanks to the dam at site, which holds back flood water during heavy rainfall and protects residents of Papillion and the Bellevue area downstream. Residents enjoy coming to the recreation area to fish for black crappie, bluegill, largemouth bass, channel catfish, and redear sunfish.
